Since the re-election of the President the Tea Party has been on the ropes, reeling from the disbelief that this may have been the first “thrown” election in US history.  This fundamental concern has served to weaken the trust in our government. Revelations about the IRS (domestically the most feared arm of our government), the NSA snooping, and let’s not forget, as many seem to have done, the Benghazi coverup, further corrode the trust of the American People in those governing.

From the discussions I have had with Tea Party members, from all over, the prevailing expression is that they are in disbelief.  Disbelief that the election went the way it did, and that the Republicans on Capitol Hill seem to have converted to the Democratic ticket.  To put it simply, the Tea Party members still seem to be reeling from the loss of the election.  On one hand, you have to consider that everyone put a great amount of energy and emotion into the election, and afterward they just had no energy, and needed to concentrate on making a living under the Obama Administration for the next four years.

Now is the time for us to all pick ourselves up by our bootstraps and get back into the fight.  The coming months will determine the course of the United States for the next twenty years, or more.  The damage the President will do to our freedoms will take a generation to repair.

In the next few months we have the last good opportunity to defund Obamacare.  The Benghazi coverup cannot slip from our view, or it will be the greatest scandal never addressed.  The IRS coercion and harassment of conservative groups during an election cycle will slowly fade from the light, if we allow it.  And, if we do not act swiftly, the NSA will continue unabated in its collection of our phone and Internet records, and will compile an extensive dossier on every citizen.  These are only three of the most prominent issues.

Over the course of the next few months Congress will vote on some life changing issues, and the Tea Party must be there to influence our lawmakers.  Conservatism hangs in the balance, there is no other place on earth where this delicate balance of freedom and restraint favors the people.  It is up to us to preserve freedom and prosperity for our children, and our children’s children.  The option is serfdom, and submission to a tyrannical ruler.

Conservatives from every group need to band together to battle the onslaught of the “progressive” movement.  The Tea Party is the perfect tent for Conservatives to come under.  The infrastructure is there, and good headway has been made to elect a few strong conservatives.  The Tea Party will have to work doubly hard to overcome the pressure that will be placed by the Republican Party.  The past couple of years has served to show us that the Republican Establishment is no better than the Democratic Party’s Progressive movement.  But, it can, and must, be done.  The Tea Party has to regain control of both houses of Congress, and eventually the White House.  The Founding Fathers of our Republic faced no less of a dilemma, and they overcame, as we will.
